Beginners' Linux course for companies

This course, designed specifically for companies, offers the opportunity to learn about Linux and its use in the workplace and at home. Participants will first learn about installing Linux on a computer and then get acquainted with the basic tools and programs, configurations and settings.

Content

  • General information about Linux – a short history, which distribution network to choose and why, pros and cons of Linux.
  • Linux installation procedure – preparing the computer for installing Ubuntu distribution, integrating Linux into the Windows environment.
  • Basic configurations and system settings – graphic appearance, etc.
  • Basic tools – a list of functions (connecting to the internet, e-mail, multimedia, office tools, using USB, repositories).
  • How to set up security and protection.
  • Wine virtualisation engine, connecting with the Windows OS.

The Beginners' Linux course takes place in the form of practical computer work in a group of 5 or more participants. All participants receive a script and a CD with the lectures and installation video.
