Let us introduce ourselves

Janez Kadivec, General Manager

I still remember two decisive moments that had a strong influence on my life and professional career. The first was at the age of 8. My aunts brought me a boomerang whilst travelling in Australia. What should I do with that “equipment”? “Please, read the instructions”, they told me. That was the first document I had the opportunity to translate. The second decisive moment was at the age of 14 when I first visited the computer centre in my sister’s company. When I entered the centre I was so amazed and I said: “This is what I want to do for the rest of my life.” So my life has been dedicated to the translation of information technology. I’ve always strived for perfection in every piece of work I am entrusted with. I’m strongly aware of the boomerang effect – what you give usually returns to you.

Jože Kadivec, Project Manager

Coordination and management have been my constant companions since my childhood. As the youngest of four children I was always trying to do everything for things to run smoothly in our family. While growing up I had the chance to meet and get to know all sorts of things, but computers seemed interesting enough to study up to master’s degree level. Today I’m combining my scientific knowledge with my passion for communication, languages and cognitive and other socio-related fields to do what I like and am good at – to help connect people and their ideas.

Manica Posega, Linguist

I’ve always taken an interest in different things but sometimes it is difficult to find time for all of them and sometimes some of them just get replaced by the next thing that catches my attention. Languages, however, have been a constant in my life and ever since I started learning foreign languages at school I’ve known I would like my work to involve them. Translation turned out to be the perfect game where I can play with words and never get bored searching for and adding new toys to my collection.

Vinko Kurzweil, Software Development Manager

At the beginning of high school I wanted to become a military pilot. It was a close call but I was advised not to take that path because of my not exactly perfect dental picture. However, in my life and professional career I’m still “fighting” and cracking the nuts given to me by the computer world. My first memories of punching cards, sorting them and processing endless sheets of data, go back to the 70s. Good times. Back then dates were entered in a LLMMDD form. We were aware that LL would work only until 2000. My boss at the time made a joke that this would no longer be our problem to solve since who would be working as a programmer in 2000? The problem has been solved and I’m still here.
